USC Thornton Edge

Thornton Edge, the USC Thornton School of Music’s new music ensemble, was founded in 1976 by Robert Wojciak, and has been under the direction of Donald Crockett since 1984. Composed of some of the finest student musicians of USC Thornton, Edge has has been a guest at the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s Green Umbrella series and at the renowned Los Angeles series Monday Evening Concerts (MEC).

Program Notes

"The event features three U.S. premieres: Kristupas Bubnelis’s Ad Infinitum for string quartet, Justė Janulytė’s Sleeping Patterns, and Vykintas Baltakas’s Cladi II, as well as the California premiere of Žibuoklė Martinaitytė’s Solastalgia. Additionally, the event features Thornton Composition faculty member Veronika Krausas’s Analemma for 11 Musicians.

Presented in conjunction with the Consulate General of the Republic of Lithuania in Los Angeles."
